Acer unveils New Tablets and a giant Smartphone

Acer announced in a press meet today in newyork about their upcoming tablet releases. First up, Acer would be launching a 7 inch and 10.1 inch tablets powered by Google's Honeycomb version of Android OS or Microsoft Windows Platform. Honeycomb is specifically meant for Tablets! Acer hasn't announced any names for these tablet devices yet. But the specifications are impressive.

The 7 inch tablet would be powered by Qualcomm dual core 1.2 GHz processor and will boast a neat resolution of 1280x800 pixels. The 10.1 inch tablet would be powered by 1 GHz and will boast a resolution of 1280x800 pixels. The tablets will have HDMI output of 720p resolution and HD video playback capability of 1080p. There would be a 4 MP Camera on the back. The first tablets powered by Windows Platform would be released in February and the ones powered by Android Honeycomb would be released in April. The latter is much to do with the release of Honeycomb version.

Acer also announced about a 4.8 inch smartphone with 1024x480 pixels resolution. This device is a hybrid between smartphone and tablet and will have the capabilities of both. The handset will boast 8 MP Camera with LED Flash, 720p HD Video recording and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera for video calling purposes.
